Default 2 post car lift

i have been looking at buying a 2 post car lift 3.5T, it would have to be single phases, there is a company sells Automotech ones that are not to expensive, it would be for home use not every day work, dose anyone have one or recommendations on one ?

I'm thinking of one of these myself, but was thinking probably a 2 Tonne one. 3.5 tonne don't seem to be that much more so I might have a re-think. Like you though, I would like some recommendation before I part with the cash

If you have the ceiling height then these look good. I bought my scissor from Strongman tools and cannot recommend them enough. I did not have the ceiling height in my garage for the 2 post or would have bought on of them...the scissor does not restrict me much at all though.

They do a 2 poster too and I can vouch for their service and quality and I had a few questions when I sunk mine in to the garage floor and they were really helpful with great tech support: http://sm-t.co.uk/product-category/v...wo-post-lifts/

I have got their clifton lift.

their lifts look good and not too pricey either they've got a refurbished 4 poster in but it's nearer 2 grand so a bit too much for me

If you can spend the extra you will thank yourself later, the cheaper stuff will show up where the money is saved. I was glad of the 3 ton swl when I bought my rangie and friends turn up with big SUV people carriers "could you stick my winters on, mate" type stuff so it is good to have the safety.

cheers for the feedback never heard of them before, how long have you had your strong man lift and i guess there has been no issues, there 2 poster isn't much more than expensive than an automotech one. i don't want to spend more than 2k as its just for my own use, but reliability and safety is key, i should probably do a little more research i always thought they were more in the 3k plus price so was a bit surprized to see them as little as £1300

there's a guy around the corner from me with a single post lift, similar to this: http://sm-t.co.uk/product/bridgnorth...gle-post-lift/

he seems to get on well with it, it's helpful in his workshop as space is limited. I'm not sure that it's very portable though, it weighs a ton.

Yeah. Single post lifts are handy for a small space alright. They aren't too bad as far as portabality goes, as long as you're not going too far with it.

OP, if you know what you're looking at, maybe a 2nd hand 2 post would suit? Especially if you're using it for personal use, and not multiple times a day every day like a garage business. Good bargins can be had.
