Default Hydraulic press?

Looking to get a cheapish press to go in my home workshop

Not really found any reviews on the cheapo ones so thought I'd ask on here

This sort of thing
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2512002363...m=251200236337

Will get used for the odd bearing etc and will mod it to do sheet metal folding! So it's not like it's it's getting used 8 hours a day 6 days a week

Thoughts?

One like that will be fine for occasional use. It's just a bottle jack in a frame so probably wouldn't be too hard to knock one up yourself. We have a Clarke one at work, takes a pounding!

Did think about building my own but I'd not save anything, the only thing I'd do differently is I'd use an air jack just cos I'm a lazy fucker lol

We have a Sealey one at work and yeah it's used most days and been faultless, but it was proper money!

I have the same one in my workshop and it's taken a fair hammering with no issues. I've made my own tooling for it though. The base isn't the sturdiest, but it's not bad.

I've got a few tools from the same (chinese) manufacturer and all have them have been fine tbh. Only real issue was with some of the blast cleaning kit I got from them as they're in use 50% of the day, every day and that was the harsh media I was using blasted through some of the cheap fittings, so I just fitted better ones.

For the money I can't have any complaints.
