Hello! I am from Spain too. That "hole" is simply a plug similar that those of the engine block and head. Probably it has rotten inside. All that you have to do is to extract the old plug and put another one new. You can buy it in a car spares centreor a ford dealer. You have to measure the diameter of the hole and buy a new plug.

Hola valvulines eso que dices que pierde agua es simplemente un tapon metalico que lleva el cuerpo del termostato. Se habrá oxidado por dentro y por eso pierde agua por ahi. Simplemente tienes que sacarlo del alojamiento y comprar uno nuevo. Tendras que medir el diametro del agujero y pedir otro de la misma medida. Para meter el nuevo simplemente limpia bien el agujero y mete el tapon nuevo a presion. Puedes echarle algun sellante si quieres pero no hace falta en principio. Ese tapón no creo que te cueste ni un euro comprarlo. Lo puedes comprar o en un concesionario ford o bien llevar la medida y comprarlo en cualquier tienda de recambios para el automovil.
