Default 1989 MAP Sensor Location

Hi there,

I'm currently working on a 1989 2WD Sierra Sapphire Cosworth but I cannot get it started for the life of me. I've replaced the Phase, crank and a few other sensors. I get a spark on cylinder 1 as you would expect but I cannot get the others to spark. I've researched the issue and it could be down to a faulty MAP sensor but I'm not exactly sure where it is I am looking so if anyone could direct me or have a picture of the location of it I would be extremely grateful!

Cheers

Promie

Map sensor is on the passenger (uk) side inner wing, I believe the arch liner needs to be removed to access the fittings?

Seriusly doubt that the map sensor would effect the sparks though.

This guy changes the map sensor on his 3 dr , pretty sure the sensor is in same place as a 1989

Brilliant, thank you so much this will be a big help! I think you are right and I don't think it will effect the spark, but it should stop it from over filling the cylinders.

have you checked the condition of your crank pulley .it should be getting a signal from the crank pulley lugs,

if you feel it's over fueling check your fuel pressure regulator diaphragm isn't split and dumping petrol into the vacuum line into the inlet manifold

Map sensor can be removed with a mini socket set to save removing arch liners

I agree with above. Having just had this issue with the regulator.
