4X4 front drive shaft lenghts on lowering
Right my 90 4x4 saff is running on the longer xr4x4 shafts, as its very low, aprox 60mm drop.
I want to change the springs and raise it , so only a 25mm drop. Will I now need to go back to shorter standard cosworth shafts?
I asked elsewhere, but just seeing what people are running on here?
Im sure i had some shorter original cosworth shafts somewhere, spent an hour hunting in the shed , but gave up as was getting cold
I'd rather have the shafts ready to go back in , before changing the spings , incase the longer one dont fit, so may try and source another set if i really do need them.

I think you will be ok, you could add adjustable track control arms to give a bit of room and set the geo right.

A 60mm drop in suspension height is extremely low , what did you have to do to the arches etc to stop the tyres rubbing. My 2wd Saff is only lowered by 35 mm but required all 4 arches to be rolled for clearance so no wonder you want to now raise the ride height.

I didnt, previous owner did. But running 215s on 8j et40 wheels. With rolled archs. And it only rubs at the front if on full lock and uneven surface occasionally.
reasons for raising it, bored of repairing the front splitter Should handle better. And mainly so i can use it a bit more, not being soo worried i wont get over a speed bump etc when going out!
