Default Free 10 bhp upgrade!

How do you get an extra 10 bhp for free? Simple!! Get your Cossie out on a day like today when its freezing cold and the roads are dry and go for a blast! I swear my 2wd Saff feels like its got extra power and it goes even harder than normal!!! Its one reason I keep mine taxed and insured all year round. You are missing out if you dont use your car during the Winter!

Very true, I am hoping that the fabled spec r intercooler will have a similar effect but you cannot beat the cold, dense air

The best intercoolers there are will still not be as good as a freezing cold day!
I bet record breaking 1/4 mile times on turbocharged cars could be set in Winter!

One of the audis, not sure which had an aircon outlet blowing the intercooler, a chap I know, also called Toby (so must be cool...geddit) has a mk1 golf Caddy with an rs4 engine in the back and he has full on air con only plumbed to the cooler, I have seen him do 0-60 in the low 3s at santa pod.

Sounds like a cracking good idea!! Cooler the air, higher the performance!!

Wonder if the drag of running the air con pump would negate the benefits lol

Yeah, have wondered that, especially when you consider the weight of it and the air drag and weight of the condenser rad etc...

I expect the VW Caddy with the Audi RS4 engine is an out and out drag car which has probably had anything adding weight taken out already so it will still be worth it.

Yes, it was road legal but he only really did that to get it to the drag strip.

Mate. If I hadn't spent a fortune on bodywork I would use mine in the winter months. I'm just scared the rust will appear.

You have to choose your days Glenn, I dont go out in mine when the roads have been gritted but wait untill there has been a good few days of rain to wash the roads and then when they are dry I take it out. At the moment you can see the salt dust on the roads round our way which will coat everything under your car!! Mine was waxoyled from new which I am sure has helped keep the rust at bay.
