Can get the RSOC to value the car for you.

Have a look in the back of Performance Ford,Fast Ford etc....for specialist insurance companys.

Sounds a very nice car too.

I live about twenty minutes from inverness and know of most of the local cossies up here through word of mouth or through mutual friends, so i was interested to hear about your trip up here to buy the three door. It must have been a well kept secret because i didn't even realise there was such an original low-mileage example in inverness. I wish i had had a chance to see it before it headed south, sounds like a beauty. As for Price, a well known garage in aberdeen is selling a white 3 door with 28,000 miles for £12,995, so i would say £12,000 in a private sale is about right. Insurance will be a problem but try to negotiate a classic policy with limited mileage and as an added insentive to the insurance company join the RS owners club. Also, make sure the car has a cat 1 security system fitted. All these pointers will help towards getting a decent quote but be prepared to pay a four figure sum

Most classic policies won't even cover you until 21, or usually 25 years old. Even then, the RSOC one is good, but won't cover more that Stage 1 cossies as a classic - becomes a modified policy and premium rockets. Basically they class Stage 1 as retaining 2 bar map sensor and original injectors - you can do anything else though - cams, brakes, etc, but you aren't going to get more than 300bhp!!

Good luck!!

just have a good ring around. Try some of the bigger companies if your gonna stay standard or as someone else said, thumb through the back of fast ford mag.

I'm with admiral, i'm 23 on an escos and paying £975.
