Default cosworth no spark !!

hi drove my saff up to santa pod yesterday was running fine on the way there. went to start it to come home about 4 and nothing just turned over and done a couple of backfires then nothing checked for spark and there wasnt one. only had a few tools so called rac they said that it is coil pack or crank sensor?? is this usual for crank sensor to just go??? it is running wasted spark kit cheers

No start would normally be crank sensor. Check and regap. Also check lugs on pulley.
Sensors are cheap enough.
I would change that first and then phase sensor.

Doubt it, does the pump prime when the ignition is switched on?

yeah pump primes and plugs seem to get wet. do the wasted spark kits use the phase sensor do they ever go wrong or are they reliable

Yeah they still need the phase sensor and phase sensors can be troublesome aswell but are peanuts for a new one I'd check it first

Then the CPS is fine!

Have you checked the coil pack has power?

This info is used for fuelling, not ignition, but yes it's still required.

took plugs out last night to check and there sparking now put them back and it started!!! tried it up the road and was running fine. going to fit a new phase sensor and maybe crank and see how it goes just wont take it more than a few miles from home lol
