Default Fitting drivers seat

Hi, I know this will sound stupid at first but I'm having trouble fitting drivers seat in p100 and wondered if anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong!

The previous owner removed them and left them loose in the back, now I am re fitting them.
the drivers seat has a long mechanism on the bottom of runner with a folded handle on the front. And basically this is in the way as there is a raised section on the floor pan, and I can bolt the front brackets down, but the back brackets are lifted up about 4 inches where the mechanism rod thing is touching the raised section on the floor. I have tried fitting the seat both with the mechanism wound out full and wound in, and I still can't get the back of the seat low enough.

This is really doing my head in! Please can some one point out whats going on? Thanks, matt

Hi, I haven't been to lockup with camera yet, but on the subframe of the seat, there is a short but chunky spring, and the other end isn't attached to anything? Does anyone know where to attach the spring, because I think this may be the source of my problem?

Thanks

the spring attaches to the floor . you will see where when the seat is offered up. It is the tension spring for when you pull the seat forward EDIT (sorry , push back).put it in place first then bolt the front in. it will slide then and you will be able to bolt the back in if memory serves me right.

Still can't fit it! Can't find a hole for the spring, and struggling with this- its a seat for gods sake!!!
I will try and take some pics up for you guys to see tommorrow.
But the problem is where the threaded rod thing with the swivel Handel, is touching on the raised bump on the floor pan. This is keeping the rear brackets from touching the floor by about 4 inches.
I was wondering if all sierras have this raised bump in the floor drivers side going under the seat, or if it was just in p100's and the previous owner had given me another set of ford seats?
Anyway I will try to get some pictures if I can, thanks, matt

The spring hole is only a slot on the cross member. Best stick a picture up . I have taken many a sierra and sapphire apart but never a p100 .
The swivel handle is the height adjustment for the seat base .Try winding it right up . . . . . . . . or down .

Hi I have put up some photos. The first one shows the rail what the spring with the swivel Handel is touching- you can see the rusty mark on it. The last photos are showing the seat in situ, with the front brackets lining up and the rear brackets are up in the air ( I have put a socket in one so you can see how much of a gap there is) and you can see how the spring swivel Handel thing is touching that raised up area. I can't find anywhere to hook the small spring on. I know the photos aren't the best but hopefully someone can point something out? I did try the seat with the seat base fully up and fully down, but still to no avail! Thanks for help, matt

Oh , whats that about ? .
I can see the problem and can also see as the seat brackets seem to have been that low to the carpet before so spacers of some kind dont look to have been used. Am a bit stumped tbh . . . ! !

When I brought the truck the seats were just in loose and I did go through all the parts and I found the bolts but there were no spacers or blocks- like you say it looks likethee seat brackets have been fixed straight down befor, I don't quite know what's going on! I did wonder if the seats were for a standard seirra and not a p100, but From the rust marks it looks to me as though they have been used befor, and all the door cards match. Any ideas????

Thanks, matt

I fitted ford seats from an RS turbo to my 205 pug, I just bolted the runners to the seat and fabricated mounts on the floor. The RS turbo runners would fit your seats I expect and they are just simple back and forward so easy to work with.

Mate you have to use a base model runner without the height adjuster. Either that or remove the height adjuster from you runner. It's a cunt of a job tho

Ok, thanks everyone, I will have a look at removing the height adjustment runner, if I can! I will let you all know if and when the seat is fitted. Fingers crossed!

It does come off. You have to drill all the rivets out and ream the holes. Don't go beating them out of your bend the runner. Then your in the shit. I bent mine pressing the rivets out. It's far easier to use the original runner from the p100 of your seat. Or look on ebay for one put of a base model.
