Default GT28 Series

Hello all,

I'm currently running a CR T38.48 and looking for something with a bit more punch/less lag.

Aiming for around 400bhp and 400lbft

Basic spec as follows:
205 Block with standard head and cams
JE WRC pistons 9.2:1 CR
Asnu 600cc injectors
Omex 600
2WD exhaust manifold
Airtech 70mm inter cooler

Don't think I will head down the route of a GT30. I have been discussing with my tuner of using a GT28 and possibly fitting some cams with it. I have BD14 cams available.

Does anyone have a GT28 or GTX28 fitted and would they please share some spec and dyno sheet. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

You could struggle a bit with that CR, especially if you`ve got a skimmed head (most are)!

I would look at an efr6758 should be able to pick it up for about 1K now.

T34 0.63 will do what you need but it will be on its knees

Don't want to run t34 because as you say it will be on its knees. Also don't want to run massive boost, looking to only run around 1.5bar.

I changed the housing to a .48 in a moment of madness in an effort to reduce lag!

Instead of changing back again I was looking at the GT28/GT30 route to upgrade from the T38 altogether. Even though the GT30 might not be that much better in terms of lag.?

I have BD14 cams available so might fit them with the T38 with a .63 housing and drive on from there.

Yes, I don't think that A GT30 will suit me.

I would love to see dyno graphs for GT28's.

A well sorted engine is capable of running 2bar boost all day long. We have chatted before and I would be sticking with the T38 with a 0.63 housing.

Yes.

I run a T34.48 stg 2 cutback blades
421bhp and over 400 lbft.

With 9:1 comp and a live map on a 63 housing would be great. And around your target figure. But with more than 1.5bar of boost.

I run about 36 peak holding 27ish.

Many different options out there a good mapper will make the difference.

I think the B1 frame efr should fit the standard manifold. You only have to change the flange to a t4.
7163 will make 500bhp and spool will be better then t34.
I will be using a 6758 twin scroll but have a tubular manifold.
