Saff cossie 4x4 wont start
Hi people.
Today ive been on fitting new fuel lines to my cossie.
I went to start the car and it just cranks over. The fuel pump primes but when cranking i dont think ita doing much.
Ive got a very faint spark. Ive took the plugs out and they are bone dry. After ive cranked it i can hear loads of what i think is sensors clicking under the engine bay.
Ive give up for today but i defo think its an electrical fault.
Im gonna try the ecu and fuel pump relays later.
Any ideas people.

How old is the fuel? Mine hadn't been started for about 6 months and wouldn't start, I put a fresh battery and fresh fuel and starts bang on now.

Mixed up fuel lines?
Fuel comes out of the rail,not the regulator.
Take the line off the bottom of the reg,if fuel flows the lines are mixed up.
Not forgetting you're window seal,I'm breaking a 4x4 this week so I'll have even more spare,just not been near my mums to get the seals from there.

Correct,it goes from the pump to the rail,fills the rail then the reg must release unwanted fuel from the rail back to the tank,I'm guessing it will be a 1 way affair so if it's hooked up back to front it won't start.
Makes sense too as that's all you have done is swap the fuel lines out.

Ive had a look at my workshop repair manual and i think i have the pipes the wrong way round. I bloody hope so lol.
I will get back onto the car today and swap the pipes round.

Shhhhhheeeeeeesssss alive.
Im so thick. I just thought the regulator regulated how much fuel was going into the rail.
Thanks people. I just hate it when my cossie isnt right. I just sit at home thinking what it could be till i sort it.

Glad she's sorted mate, the regulator controls the flow out of the rail to keep the rail under a set pressure like 3.5bar for instance just like the pressure relieve valve on some common rail diseasals.

Well it started fine a week ago lol. With the clicking noises under the bonnet and thw fuel pump not sounding right i thought it might of been a sticky ecu relay.

Just been out in the saff this afternoon just to check these joins. All ok and no leaks. I got my mate to follow me incase i broke down lol.
Cossies are a bloody old bone shaker but mine still makes me smile.
