Default Can i remove x member with engine still in?

Ok so i want to powder coat my cross member up but can i remove it from the car with the engine still in? The car is currently sitting up on axel stands.

I used a large block of wood to spread the load and a trolley jack to hold engine while I removed member then blocked up on the engine mounts.

Yes best way is support engi e with hoist if u have 1

And too be safe block the engine as cranes and trolley jacks can lose pressure.

also seen rachet straps used around strut brace.

You could do with one of those engine braces that rest on the lip of the wings to hold the engine up.

For what it takes Ad why not just pull the motor out? Its an hours work tops. Then you can bufty more stuff up

put a big plank of wood across the stut tops and chain it to the engine arms an d pick up points

then remove the 4 bolts for the crossmemeber, but don't forget the rack and in some cases the brake lines might go through some of the bits on the side in some cars
