Default Vibratecnic or std t5 gearbox mount

Ive heard mixed things about the vibratecnic gearbox mount that they give too much vibration! Have ppl had experience of this? Good or bad? Or is it best to go for std mount?

I fitted one to mine and it was lovely and precise when selecting a gear, but the vibration is awful.

I beg to differ! I went uprated all round at the same time, GGR diff mount vibratechnic gearbox mount and Collins engine mounts, and didn't notice much difference to be honest maybe a little bit noisier but no vibration increases, I was also told you need to uprate the engine mounts at the same time or vice versa, nether one or the other
There are also two types of vibratechnic mounts one for road and one for race, it's the same mount but with harder or softer rubber bushes.

It transformed how it drove and as mentioned above the gear change was crisp an precise, I suppose it all depends what you want really comfort over handling.

I know on a 3dr the mount has to be modded, not sure if vibratecnic know this but the corners have to be taken in and where the carrier mounts to the box has to have the corners taken off to clear the bolt head that mounts to carrier. if you don't do this it will vibrate it's tits off.

Got one on mine and doesn't vibrate at all even with Collins engine mounts and solid steering bushes and solid diff mount

Do you have any pictures of this mod with the vibra box mount?

You have to make sure nothing is touching when all fitted -

This side doesn't look tidy but when under load doesn't touch

this side all 4 corners so they don't touch the cradle when on the move, not sure if sapphire cradle is the same principal

I changed mine to a vibratech mount in my Saph. Then changed it back after a few days as you could feel every valve closing. Maybe the paddle clutch vibrates more than a standard one but it was terrible

I had a vibratecnic one in my sapphire after a finished the full restore and it was the worst thing id done to the car imo standard ones are more then fine for road use , if your going to be tracking all the tme and dont mind the harsh noise then get one , i think ive still got mine in a box of bits in the garage if your intrested i can have a look

Two factors here - you can't buy new OE mounts and did anyone else mod theirs so they didn't touch the mount or box carrier? if not then it will vibrate obviously like any metal to metal would

Had no issues with clearance it fitted strait in but looking at the above photo the gearbox cradle is different on my 88 2wd sapph compared to the 3 door, mine is aluminium.
