Default can i turn the boost up any???

I have a 2wd quoted to run 350bhp, the engine was built professionally and then set up in conjunction with Ahmed bayjoo before I bought it.

Spec...

Gen 2 escort cos bottom end. (Unsure of exact pistons but I have receipts for low comp ones)
2wd head which has been ported and matched.
4x4 manifold and intercooler.
cometic gaskets all round.
GrpA turbo with 360 thrust bearing and modified exhaust blades.
Dark greens
-31 actuator
3bar map sensor
1.5 bar boost exactly (peaks at 1.5 and holds all the way to red line never any drop off)
Motorsport 350 fuel pump
Ahmed stage 2 330 chip

I hear of folk running 25psi (I’m running 20psi) and they have less a spec than myself... so could I turn up the pressure and get a few mor horse's.

i've been told that you get around 7-8 bhp for every 1 psi increase so by my calculation i'd have 338bhp not 350bhp. so the extra 5 or so psi would take me up to 370 odd bhp.

My car is fast a fcuk at the moment no lag whatsoever, hell on the way down to the aberdeen rsoc show i pissed all over an evo 8 and i had a full car. was well impressed with that.

whats your opinions

komodo,
if you have enough fuel delivery for that kind of boost, it should not be a problem. Best thing would be to have the car on a dyno with the Air Fuel Ratios being read while increasing the boost.

One thing you'd like to find out first is which head gasket are you running, as the standard item might not be able to hold that kind of pressure.

btw, 1.5bar = 22psi

Yes u can up the boost BUT it needs to be done by a pro who then takes it out and checks to make sure as said it doesnt lean out due to not enuff fuel being injected under load. Just cos its running rich doesnt mean its getting enuff fuel under full load and im sure the last thing u want is melted pistons
