Standard or modified
Ever since I have owned my 3 Door Cosworth things have been changed on it.
Interior, wheels, engine bay etc, all had various things changed at some point.
Recently been thinking standard looks great as my Moonstone is completely standard and looks just right.
So do I change the Black one back to how it should be?
Am I going mad, or going sane, not sure!!!!
Pictures how it used to be. (also had standard spoiler and interior too)

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Mine's almost totally standard apart from the Magnex exhaust, just spent ages trying to get a new header tank and associated bits for it as I replaced the split original tank with 4x4 tank and pipes years ago. Always rankled with me but couldn't get the standard tank from Ford's.
I think there's so many modified ones out there now, it's the standard ones that actually stand out in a crowd now.

Thinking of going back to standard size reg plates with dealer letters too
Probably keep wheels as they are, if not thinking calibre wheels
As some have said standard on white and moonstone, black needs to be modified

I think saffs and escorts can get away with being modified outside but the 3 door is a classic now and looks so much nicer standard, maybe just a slight drop in height and a 3" stainless and thats all it needs. Ditch the 500 style rear lower spoiler and lip as its not a 500, I may get shot down for this but also i think the small plate, clear indicators, wheels and lower rear spoiler etc make it look like a replica

Now thinking:
Dealer plates
Ambers
Keep the Comps
Standard interior back in
Keep 500 style spoilers (sprayed all gloss so not trying to be genuine 500 parts, but have the styling)

Nooo, don't tempt me.
Maybe some Calibre`s could be added tho.
Similar to standard look, just bigger
I thought that after having bigger wheels for so long

personally, the pic of the black one with 6 spokes fitted, I think it looks great with subtle changes to make it look less dated, like the indicators and the purposeful looking wheels and the chrome tailpipe... ive never been too sure about the whale-tail but I guess its the only spoiler i'd be prepared to put on an old 3door. i'd have it!
but if it was totally standard to the nut and bolt it'd drive me crazy that something wasn't good enough.
after all modifications should happen as an improvement in one form or another... so why would you want to take all its refinements away?
I say keep it tasteful in appearance, just one or two changes, conservative ones, something that you could imagine someone asking for as an extra when it was new.
