Default rs500 centrelocks arch rub

Hi folks,i bought a set of image centerlocks for my 500 and they rub the arch's on the front.By the marks on the tyre i think i need to lose about 17mm on the offset but only have about 5-6mm that i can have turned off the wheel.Anyway it has been suggested that i could fit some adjustable bottom arms and give the wheel some negative camber and i wondered if anyone else had done this and if so did it make it look or handle rubbish.
P.S sorry if this is a daft question but i have never had this problem before so all new to me.

Cut the arch a little back, and leave the wheels as is?

get yourself a second set of arches and cut them to suit the wheels ,also have your wings rolled back professionally so they can be returned back to standard if you ever wish to mate

If you notice the tourers used to have a fair bit of negative camber and dummy arches, I'd go with the adjustable lower arms as with those wheels the handling would of changed due to the ET of the wheel moving

Or the other option is a pair of shallower outer barrels.

I have been onto image and my outer rim is the smallest they do at 1"so can't go that way.I need a very cheap option as money is tight and a couple of hundred for these arms looks like it may work.

It could be a risky option going for the arms IMO. You could fit them, and find it still catches as there's a limit to how much camber you want to run. If you do go for that option, check with Lacey's mate to make sure you're running the same measurements - if you are job done.

If not I wouldn't have thought that trimming the arches wouldn't affect the resale value - and it does look awesome sitting like it does now. Go on, get 'em cut!

What size tyres are you running? Maybe a thinner front tyre would help

I am only running a 205 so can't go any smaller,i am so very tempted to get the grinder out but she is all standard and it seems such a shame to cut her about.

What size wheel and tyre are they ?
If they rub at the front it may not help to have a bit of neg camber , its more usual to have to adjust the front of the wing where it joins the car , mind you if you trim the arch ,use some adjustable lower arms and compression struts you can put the wheel where you want it .

It is only running a 205/40/17 but the hub adaptors for the centrelocks push them out and they rub the top of the arch. They clear the splitter and bumper.

I am going to make the adaptors for my cars as I want them to go through the bearings like the genuine ones this will also allow me to dictate the position of the wheels

This car appears to have the front wheels sat further into the car

So would this have shorter front arms etc?

Yes, different hubs ,different drive flanges ,everything designed to accommodate bigger wheels without rubbing on bodywork.
