Default PolyBushing a Sapphire Cosworth

I want to polybush the car.

But I'm unsure of exactly which bushes I need?

I also have read not to bush the rear arms?

I will be looking to have a 6 degree rear beam fitted later this year if that makes a difference?

Could somebody give me a list of what I do and dont want the polybush please.

Thanks very much

Billy

Yes the trailing arm bushes have 'spherical bearings', and so polybushing is essentially a downgrade.

Apart from that, rear beam bushes, TCA bushes and ARB's, imo.

Polybushes are shit

I'd replace with standard Ford bushes or try and get some Ford group N ones like I did

Also worth changing your beam mount to a poly one too if you haven't supposed to make a big difference

You want front inner and outer tca polybushes front arb polybush rear arms polybushes and rear beam solid mounting bushes and vibra tech or the like engine mounts and diff mount

Do not buy floflex!! Use superflex or powerflex

You don't want the rear arm bushes. The original cosworth bushes are spherical bearings, replacing them with polybushes would be a very bad move. I tried the polybushes but replaced them again with the original spherical bearings.

BTW, I've used Floflex bushes for 8 years or so, never had a problem with them, except for the rear arms though...

Billy the most simple approach to get what you need is buy the full front and rear kit from Powerflex, but ensure it doesn't come with front top mounts, rear trailing arms, and rear spring tops

That's what I did with Woodford and they sorted me a price

This would probably be why they were shit in all fairness bud anyone I know to have used them has slated them and changed quickly hence why they are so cheap

I've also tried polyrace bushes from rallydesign, those fitted even worse.

You should not polybush the rear arms, the original bushes are far better. Can't help you've never heard of this before...

Ive bought a full set of flo-flex bushes. Paid less than 100 quid for the full set, thats the only reason. Ill let you know how i get on as the x member etc is going in tomorrow. Ill also have to let you know how they are after some abuse from the 400bhp.

New original what? Arm bushes? Probably not new then. Why replace bearings that cost 80 pounds each?

Front tcas, still looking for arb bushes, but they seem to be hard to find. I have group n top mount bushes in conjunction with early group a top mounts. I also have a ggr rear beam kit, it makes a good difference as well.

Yes bud they were black if I still got a pic of them i'll post it up, previous owner had them fitted 2 months before I got car for 1 and then I decided to go from 4x4 to 2wd so beam and arms (1 arm was slightly bent anyway) had to be changed to 7.5" beam and you are the 1st person to say that the originals are better, everyone was saying go polybushes and I have found them to be better. Each and to there own though.

It's all down to personal preference what you like basically and me along with most others on here found powerflex/superflex to be very good I also have billet solid rear beam mounts as they are better than poly ones and I'm getting vibra tech engine mounts and ggr diff mount

I've also gone standard gearbox mount as I said before down to preference solid gearbox mounts I told are very harsh (especially if your car is set up stiff) and can kill box's/diffs

Its not the shape of them bud, its the reason they break go out of shape quick is because they are cheap for a reason (they are made cheaply not the same as powerflex/superflex)
