Well now CF is out of the way time to get her finished! This morning i removed the original fuel pump feed too pump as it was failing when it got hot after and hour so have replaced with new! Bought a new bumber strip at cf will use hairdryer to remove old sticky shit and the door strips as theyre horrid then fit as soon as weathers good! Front brake pads need changing and when getting out my camping gear for cf i found a box of brand new pads (touch) will do that weekend maybe. Will order some under sill clips to secure the side skirts properly and fit my new oil preasure/temp and water gauges too!
Then its just getting her rubbed primered and resprayed (same colour)

Looking good Wes, bet it's nice to have it on the road and then be adding little bits to it.
I cannot wait much longer to get mine sorted!
Having the 8 valver is okay (the grey one), looks nice but no guts really
When I'm up and running in the silver one I'll be well happy.

Yeah go for it if its a direct fit into your mt75 box!
I got an AP 6 paddle clutch (keeping it just going to fit the bits to make it hydraulic gonna keep mine external though cos god forbid anything goes wrong with yours you have to remove your box to see/inspect plus being external its easy access and easy/quick maintenance

It's the bug eyed Scorpio turbo diesel box, they only did one as far as I know.
I bought it for the ratio's and the longer input shaft.
Just need to get my XR4x4 casing slipped on & i'll have two hybrid boxes.

Yeah but what engine lol, also from what I know the gear ratios of the diesel are shit its only the 5th and syncro that are any good hence using mt75 gearing but swapping 5th for diesels longer 5th

...all I know is the gearbox is from the Bug eyed Scorpio turbo diesel.
They only did one as far as I know.
As for what cc the engine is or its origins or who made it - I do not know.
I know it is not a Ford built engine though.
And from what Damo told me the ratio's are pretty much the same with the exception of the 5th. It was he who recommended me getting one, along with the final drive too. I've heard/read Dojj say as much also.
Some info I pulled off the net a while back, supposedly something like...
DOHC 8v 2.0 litre:
1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th Rev
3.89 2.08 1.34 1.0 0.82 3.51
2.0 litre DOHC 16v:
1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th Rev
3.61 2.08 1.44 1.0 0.83 3.26
2.3 litre DOHC 16v May 97:
1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th Rev
3.61 2.08 1.44 1.0 0.83 3.26
2.3 Litre DOHC 16v May 98:
1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th Rev
3.61 2.08 1.36 1.0 0.76 3.26
2.5 TCi Diesel:
1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th Rev
3.61 2.08 1.36 1.0 0.76 3.26
But of course anything you read on the internet is sometimes inaccurate?
Hope it's all good, but then before I get into it I'm thinking about selling it all and doing the RX8 gearbox conversion..? 6 speed, close cut ratios, hydraulic clutch.. hmm

I can't imagine anyone being stupid enough to try using a fwd gearbox in a Sierra
Like I say, I'm not sure about how many different turbo diesel engines were available for the Scopio's (not talking mk3 Granada's by the way) I found a low mileage box not too far away so I bought it.
I'm sure we will get to the bottom of it.
#668
I've had a quick google and the 2.3 diesel was the engine Ford put in the mk3 Grannys, made by Peugeot no turbo mated to a type 9 box - neither use nor ornament.
The only Diesel in the Scorpios was the 2.5 TD with MT75, so happy days!

You may be able to help me (I hope), do you have any scrap box's or fucked box's mt75 I need a speedo worm/taxidrive/coloured cog
#674
the actual gears inside were the same, it's just the casings etc that were different so if you can find a push bearing from one of them to fit it might be much easier to get hold of seeing as they made more of them

there were, from memory, 2 speedo drive cogs, red and green
but i'm not sure if they were compatible because one would run the vss and one would run the speedo
if the speedo is juddery it might need a new cable, or at least a squirt of oil up it to sort it if it's not been kinked in the past

The box in the eBay add is from a 2.3 petrol.
For the speedo cable there are 4 types of cogs, a red, green, blue and yellow one. The have either 21, 22, 23 or 24 teeth. You also need to make sure you have the right worm wheel in the box, as some worm wheels work with cogs with only around 14 teeth, and those are not compatible with the 21 to 24 teeth cogs.
