£100

That's a bargain, talk about local & at the right price

As for my clutch I think I'm going to buy a standard 2.9 V6 XR4x4 clutch kit, LUK don't stock them anymore but I can get one direct from Valeo for about £165.

I don't fancy the new old stock QH's on ebay.

I worked at a motor factors for a few years about 14 year ago and have never thought of QH as quality parts

That's not to say I rate Valeo that highly either, I would have felt comfortable with LUK though.

But like I say I don't want the hassle of ebay clutches..

I want to make sure I get the clutch that I ask for, if I use my local trusted parts supplier I can get it sorted if something isn't right, you know what I mean?

I might ask Matt Lewis, see what brands of clutches he can get hold of, nothing fancy - just standard.

Anyway, you get those wheels yet?

I guess it's just down to luck!

Heres one for ya then.. which clutch cable? I mean yeah, 2.9 V6 but which pattern part manufacturer.. all I can see on ebay is between 10 & 15 quid by the likes of first line, which did you use? I guess it's down to luck also?

I was thinking earlier after my above post, the clutch in my XR4x4 24v was decent enough so I pulled out the paperwork & reciepts that came with the car again and rang York motor factors who originally supplied Graham (who built the car up) with the clutch, it was a Sachs clutch which they still had availiable.

The guy on the phone gave me a choice of three...

'National' - £91.90 + VAT which he described as budget.
'Sachs' - £136 + VAT mid range
'Valeo' - £170 odd (don't know if that was with or without VAT as I switched off knowing I could get it cheaper here) The Valeo he described as premium.

I really need to see if they are still available from Ford, as well as the clutch cable, these are parts we need tp work right and last after all.

Sorry for the babling, really should do my own thread

What you doing with your exhaust?

I mean I'm not bothered when they are advertised at 5 & 600 quid - they still look nice but if a bloke up the street had some for £100 I.d all of a sudden want them on my Saff

My back box is a Scorpion, it was an ebay gamble that payed off, can't remember if it was about £45. Thought it'll arrive and be a pile of shit but it's actually in really good condition.

Of course you can't leave your kids - I'm stuck in too, Mrs has gone to a friends birthday bbq.

Cheers for the cable number.

I get a lot of stuff from GS Motorsport too.

Well we were both meant to be going to this bbq but my mom & dad ended up going away so they couldn't do their Grandparent duties...

I should be full of burge3rs and beer by now having a laugh but so far I've done the tea, done the dishes, hoovered up, done bathtime, and read stories managed a couple of cans and listening to 80's cheese on channel 369

I don't really mind, my turn next time It just means I'll be up early again whilst our lass has her head in a bucket until mid afternoon

Right then now show season is over its time to sort all the issues etc....... So dash has got too come out too kill 3 birds with 1 stone, screen is cracked needs replacing, heater matrix is weeping so requires changing and with dash out I can drill hole in floor behind clutch pedal to mount my hydraulic m/c and connect up too clutch pedal (I've already adapted it and made the bits up to do it after reading TABITHA's thread) then bleed it.
Also the other day my speedo has stopped working (thinking snapped cable) so will buy another and change it.
I have bought a GRP A k&n with trumpet today just need to order a 80mm hose then will fit it.
