Default can a 2wd L6 ecu be replaced with a 4X4 L8 ??????????

As above i've been asked by a friend to ask you people in the cossie world if you could answer a simple enough question :

My friend has a 1990 H reg 2wd cossie apparently fitted with a L6 ecu......?

the question is his car is std bar the scorpion and K and N Filter but he has been offerd the full stage 2 kit of a J reg 4X4 believed to be a L8 ecu (stg 2) along with a 3 Bar, 803's and -31 the question is can he simply plug and play or are the 2 types just not compatible??????? so he will need to go looking for a stg 2 L6 or a stg2 2wd ecu???

many thanks

yes a 1990 2wd will have a L6 as standard.

yes that's possible, but he'll also need a 4x4 TPS known as a PF09 (also used on some cars from the Fix It Again Tony group), and you'll need to swop the outer 2 wires on the tps sensor connector around as the PF01 and PF09 work the other way around.

get the fuelling checked afterwards as well.

Will swap over easy enough m8

Will need 4x4 throttle position sensor, and then swap the outer wires on the wiring plug for throttle position sensor

Good stuff people however if i have both of these tps in my hand how obvious are the differences between the 2 or is it just down to the ford pt. no. on the side, if so would you happen to know these off hand...........

the thing is i know for a fact that i'm going to get lumped with the graft of having to put all the bits on the car and all the wire swapping etc........

rs turbos are so much easier than all this webber marelli stuff
(however there shit slow by comparison)

The 4x4 definately has PF09 stamped on it - I think the 2wd will have PF01 (not sure about the PF02 in previous post - perhaps Big Fin and 2wd Saph were different too?)
