Default T5 Input shaft 2Wd sierra cosworth

I have taken my box apart and need a new input shaft.
I would either like the specs ie Tooth cont, spline count, length and pilot diameter, world class or NWC ect
A supplier would be nice but the a list of specs would be good as the american ones might work yet and are priced well.
The gearbox is a T5 Warner Borg 2 WD sierra cosworth

The Gear box place rang in the measurements today.
24 tooth
235 length
spline 23
spigot 15 dia
I am concerned over the tooth cont being 1 out .
Would it be a concern?
Yep please do take measurements as this is now a top dollar box.
I reconed it at Ł300 synchro's
had a second hand input shaft put in at coin and now on a Ł200 remedy am having new gears put in at my bargain source purchase and it still needs a new input shaft as the first attempt one at Ł40 is naff.
It will be good but do need to source a decent input shaft.
If yours is good ,do the correct thing and advertize it for me so i can use it.h the specs if not .
Thanks
I am going to contact the USA suppliers wit

the shafts are no longer available, not even from the states, the tooth count IS 24
you can buy a mustang shaft that is machined to suit cossy but you need to change the clutch disc

The gears are cheap from 5speeds.com. I usually buy gears and overhaul kits from there, as they are the correct reinforced carbonfiber syncro kits that should be used on all T5s. The input shafts are afaik not available new from any dealer (been refurbishing these trannys for 6years now). So if any one have information on where to get a hold of new input shafts please let me know.

Hi Mates,
So does anyone have pics with measurements of standard Cosworth 2wd T5 input shaft? I am helping a buddy put a t5 together for his cosworth powered Merkur XR4Ti. I would even consider purchasing a trashed one to have for reference if needed.

Cheers,

Tony

So if it is the same length as the USA spec mustang then I can just have the spigot machined to 15 mm and I would be good. I misread this earlier today.

Cheers,

Tony

New input shaft from Tremec ,I gave the gearbox number this time.
800 miles on clock.
I put the bosch fuel pump on with a 12v relay feed.
There has been a fan issue that was sorted twice .First time general wire tidy.soldering and heat shrink.
second time fuze blowing and a issue on the fuze box that still needs mastering.Alloy header but now the fans work again.
The system heated up at a traffic light and the cooler system found a week spot.Just need to silicon hose a worn pipe or two.
Its running well .
Have the l8 to go in and bought new grey injectors.
A chip from MSD blackpool and wasted spark.at Ł500 a crack.
The car is mechanicaly there with a new bearing and Tremec input shaft from the states. They are there on mass and fairly cheap cost.
Group a coil with MSD wiring loom fitted.
Need to fit the correct dizzy cap ,until wasted spark kit is saved up for.
Then came the issue of she looked a dog.
Rear boot taken of and blasted and primed.
Front bumper blasted and primed.
new grill sourced etc.
side skirts taken of and newies sourcing.
Side black rubber stripes need to be bought new.
Then of to spray shop about Ł400 to make her look new again.
Tr1 proxies on copamotives n spayed wight ongoing.
Fooking sunroof to replace.
stereo system to fit .
May put battery in boot.
Once she looks good, there is the tuning with L8 ,greys ,wasted spark, new .31 actater 3 bar map and a MSD chip.
Once all this is done she should be 380 bhp and looking nice.
There is the issue of the low compression pistions to understand as MSD tune here.
Then come the cams bd14's.T4 turbo.
When does it end.
This is only to do the standard tunig.
Rear diff coilovers and it's endless.
