Misfire
Hi,
I've got a kit car running a 1987 2.0 EFI Pinto from a Sierra and I have developed a problem. Whilst driving this morning, I was at full throttle and developed a pretty bad misfire, I pulled over to check things out and all looked OK. I continued to drive (with misfire) for about 1/2 mile and then it cleared up.
I just took it out again and it was driving well so I gave it full throttle and the miss returned but now won't go.
It has new plugs, leads, dizzy cap, rotor arm, fuel pump and fuel filter.
A few things:
1. There appears to be a 3 pin diagnostics plug, is it worth figuring out how to read fault codes from that
2. I recently did the cam belt but the auxillary pulley was moved, can someone confirm how the aux shaft is set up to make sure I did it right
3. Any ideas other than coil or dizzy?
Finally, another strange event occurred the other day which may or may not be related. The starter motor signal wire has 0V when the engine is off or on ACC position then 12V when cranking. For some reason, this then drops to 7V in the ACC position. For the moment I have simply bypassed this wire but I figured it was worth a mention

Are there any tech guys on here at all that know the pinto? Any recommendations for sites that do?
The primary coil resistance was out of spec so I changed that but no difference
