Turbo question?
Hi folks,
I've taken the turbo off my 2WD to replace some broken studs.
I'm wondering while i've got it off is there anything else i need to do with the turbo.
It's the first time iv'e had it out in 16 years of ownership and it has never given me any problems. There is very little play in the shaft and it doesn't leak any oil.
Car has done 108k (1989)
Is there anything i need to do or is it a case of 'it 'aint broke so don't fix it'
Cheers.

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
If there's no play and there's no trace of oil in the housing then just put it back.
It sounds like your engine has always been well serviced.

I took it all off to replace some snapped manifold studs and a sheared bolt on the trousers part. Also one missing from the trousers.
However i snapped one of the turbo to downpipe bolts whilst removing it!
Muffster.
