205 engine block
Hi
Wanting to do a rebuild on my sapphire cosworth.
It's running aroung 350 at present but want to go to around the 450bhp mark
I have a 205 engine block, will this be good it was rebuilt with a +25 rebore around 6000 miles ago.
Do i have to look out for a 200 block or can the 205 be uprated for this power.
I have been told to long stud it also, but this can only be done on the 200 block is this correct.
much advise on this as possible before i start.

At 450 hp and a fresh build with only 1st oversize id say you would be fine but if your ever thinking of going more hp then id just sell the fresh 205 bottom end and go for a long studded 200 block..
What are you going to use it for?
If its a dedicated track car thats going to have its arse ragged of it then the long stud 200 block would be a better bet..
If its just a nice road toy that youre going to have some fast road use from time to time and 450 hp is the most its ever going to be then i reckon you will be fine..
cheers danny
