Exclamation New cam belt how tight?

Just started to fit a new cam belt, how tight should it be and how to check it. The cam bearing had collapsed which is why im wanting to check what everyone else does, got a grp A belt and tensioner from woodford motorsport.

I just tighten mine so I can get 1/4 twist on the longest part of the belt when cold. It will get tighter when the engine heats up so you want a little slack. Also, make sure you tighten the tensioner the correct way, otherwise the belt can run against the thermostat housing.

Whilst on this subject does anyone know if a re check of the belts tension after a certain amount of mileage is recommended . I seem to recall hearing Ford did do this ? Cant hurt i guess .
