Cosworth cam belt slipped

Doesnt look any different to any other one really, just worth getting new nut and new stud as when they get older and corroded the same torque setting no longer applies the same clamping force.

TBH I cant remember offhand which direction it rotates, been a while since I have done one now.
Yes its quite possible that the nut wasnt as tight as you thought it was because of corrosion, as the torque settings assume they will be in mint condition still.

use lock tight on the thread next time aswel, not that long ago ive had problems with new flywheel bolts keep coming loose even though torqued correctly and a pulley nut on an alternater and they have stayed quiet for a few months now with lock tight on

I agree with whats been said, if they knew what they were doing this woulden't have happened, plus it doesen't take 3 people to change a cambelt, again no dig just useful advise!
I am pretty sure it's anti clockwise as well, it will soon become obvious though else the belt won't tension!
When changing a cambelt a new tensioner should come hand in hand in with this process, it's just as important as the belt itself and can easily let go!
Also some make the mistake of putting the tensioner on upside down, in which case the belt will rub against the stat housing.
It's not what you want to hear but expensive in a word! If you are doing the work yourself then obviously you don't have labour costs, but even the valves themselves are around £37 each from memory! You then have HG, other top end gaskets, seals etc.

Tenisioner should turn clockwise, thats the correct way, if you do it anti-clockwise, the belt can touch the state house as Martin write. I have done this a lot of times, as i work for Ford, also have the Cosworth training manual in front of me now.
The tenisioner nut, is not a normal nut, but much bigger whit a rounded end outwards
