Default Does the Amal valve need to be piped in!

My saph has ne'er had a boost gauge fitted since I got it so temporarily fitted one to see what it's running and there's a bit of a problem! I think it's stage 1 because it's still got the yellow injectors but the boost is steady just under 1.5 bar when you boot it in any gear. If it's stage 1 shouldnt it be 1 bar max? Iv slackened the actuator rod as much a I can without it starting to open the wastegate but With the Amal valve piped and plugged in like it should be the boost is running steady close to 1.5 bar, if I unplug the Amal vale there is a click and boost then runs at about 0.5bar. It's a -31 actuator and iv also tried another -31 unit to see if that was the fault. Iv currently achieved a steady 1bar by piping the actuator straight into the output on the turbo ie. Bypassing the Amal valve but had to wind the rod along way in giving it alot of preload. Iv left the Amal valve wires plugged in, is this how It should be or would I be better including the Amal valve? I would rather have the Amal in use but don't no how to turn down the boost once the rod is at it's longest!? Is 1 bar the most Yellow injectors can run as I dont no the history of the car so don't even no if it's stage one or above? Thanx.

Your first job is to check the chip and the injector part number as there are a LOT of cars out there with 803s painted yellow.

Next, if it is a stage 1, check with the chip calibrator to find out what boost its supposed to run, this should be as simple as sending in the reference number if its a reputable calibrator.

Finally, just rejet the amal valve to suit the boost you need to run. Don't remove it, the ECU uses it to stop you blowing it up for a few different reasons.*

I will advise you on the jetting once you get to that stage, if required.

*Chip dependant.
