Default How Loud

Anybody know how much louder a mongoose exhaust is without the centre silencer?? I realise its a hard question to answer as one persons idea of loud is different to anothers.

I currently have a Scorpion 3" with 4" tailpipe and centre silencer, but fancy a mongoose with 3.5" tailpipe. I see you can get them with the centre silencer removed, but dont want it if its gonna blow my eardrums into space.

it will be too loud IMO, i dont like em with the centre box removed, even cruising is too loud

i had a magnex system on mine and grafted on a mongoose back box as i prefer the tail pipe

Thanks for posting this clip, something I've been considering just for ground clearance, not any more though, way OTT imo, I won't be doing it, not for me.

Lol, it is loud on boost but cruising etc isn't really an issue.

Saying that I only do circa 1000 miles a year in it so it has high novelty value

I have simular setup with 3" system, scorpion 4" backbox with center taken out also.. not sure with everyone else but on tickover and just pulling away you get a real nice spool noise from the rear.. sounds nice as said when not booting it its not that bad..

Think im looking to go down the blueflame route. I like the way the sections bolt together with flanges rather than push fit.

you will love them until the flanges all get twatted on every spped bump you go over lol
and i once fitted a blue flame to a customers car and had to reweld every weld due to blows coming from the start and finishing points of every weld
get a mongoose they are money well spent mate

i have a mongoose, was silent with the center box, so removed it, and now its still fairly quiet when cruising, but makes a good noise on boost.

centerbox+ backbox and external wg with screamer IMO, quiet while driving sensibly and no attraction from the law, but while when on boost sounds like a angry honey badger

Anyone have more video clips of Cosworths with centre box removed, preferably Mongoose ones? I'd like to hear what they are like when driving on motorway or filmed from outside when driving normally. The centre box is destroying my ground clearance so I'm toying with the idea of removing it. I'm not bothered if it gets somewhat louder as car is not daily, but I don't want it to sound like a freight train that's why I'd like see some videos first.

The problem is with all the various Cosworth systems the centre silencer is too round and too big. I had an oval one custom made at a specialist exhaust place and it works fine , no ground clearance problems, Mongoose back silencer so still quite loud. I think it would be to loud without a centre box.
