T5 gearbox lever noise

hello to all, ive noticed when moving the gear lever side to side in neutral it makes a strange noise. Is this normal or sumit serious.

Depends where the noise is coming from, the lever cup can get dry if well used and grate a bit, but certainly NO noise should be heard from inside the box itself..

thanks for the reply, the noise sounds like its coming from the lever joint.

I assumed you meant in the car engine running etc, that noise is 100% normal, just it's not heard with the layers of rubber gaitor and leather gaitor on the car in use.
