044 bosch fuel pump
hi all just wanted to ask about these 044 fuel pumps!
I have 2wd on stage 3 with the normal fuel pump would it be wise to upgrade to an 044 pump of leave it alone?
also would you trust a 2nd hand one? I been offered one for £70 with the fitting kit thats not even done 1000 miles. Im lead to think that they are bullet proof as they are used in rally cars and run duel pumps..
Any info greatfull

As said they are far from bullet proof, it could be wrecked in 1000 miles easy, if it's dragged in some crap from inside the tank.
There is amazingly little difference in output of the 044(group a) over the std 941 pump, it's just the lockout pressure is much better on the 044.
The std 941 pump is certainly well up to 380bhp.
The importance of a pump rewire cannot be overstated, although when testing the circuit you may well get 12v with the car idling, it could well drop to 8-9 volts under load due to old wiring not carrying enough current(amps), this could destroy an engine so needs doing(as do the fans).
