Smile Koni suspension.

My saph has Koni suspension and sits about as low as it could. It looks really nice but i catch the exhaust on the slightest bit of un even road. I want to stop this from happening and thought i could put some of those AVO upratted cossy springs (ebay £110,) onto the koni shocks. Will this work or do i have to change the shocks as well ?

No the avo and AB springs are designed to fit the koni shocks , i need these also . I think both are labelled as standard height springs but actually is lower than standard springs afaik

Also depends on what exhaust you have,I run more or less standard ride height on coilovers but the pipe is 3 or 3 and a half inch and sits quite low.Its just one of those things imo.My middle box is scraped too fook no matter how much I try and adjust this I encounter two problems. One the pipe to the rear box clanks the arms if pushed right up,two the middle catches the humps. Its grin and bear time.Saying this the exhaust is surprisingly adjustable and up or down on the mounting clamps if you know what I mean.

Shocks do not determine ride height, rather the springs do, as you correctly say if wanting to raise the ride height you need different springs perferably standard ride height in my opinion as these cars are low enough as it is, lowering by to much actually does more harm than good.

The Leda (AB) springs are around 10MM-15MM lower AKAIK and the Avo's are avaliable in standard ride height spec which as the name suggests is as near as makes no difference the same as standard ride height.

The Konis however are adjustable and so you can adjust how hard the suspension is.

These would fit on any shock make it's just they work well with Konis.

You wouldn't be disappointed with either of these spring sets, I prefer the AVO/chassis dynamics std ride height, actual real world difference is about -15mm from memory, have also used the ab and they are excellent also.
I run around -3/4" rear from std and 1" front, so the rear is always slightly higher.

I've got konis and ahmed springs and still catches on every little bump. These springs are apparently standard height or maybe 10mm less but still catches on the slightest bump.

tabetha have you got a pic of yours, as im looking into buying some springs as i want the nose down rear slightly up stance, ive got konis and fitted some ahmed springs and it shot up around 2" to which later i found out they were 4x4 springs!! witch was slightly annoying,
