Question rebuild parts off ebay, cheaper but reliable?

searching for piston rings for the yb and the average price is just over a hundred quid, but had a look online and a guy from norway (i think) is selling a set for 69.00 posted...
Is this worth the risk or should i shell out more and get them from a reputable seller, he has impressive feedback and they usually seem very clued up over there in the motor scene

Well, if they are as stated in the add, Total Seal rings /JE pistons are good quality and considering free postage, I can see the attraction. Just make sure you get the sizing right and get a spec sheet with the to check clearences/ring gaps etc.

Don't forget the gap needs checking/adjusting if buying just rings.
Usually by the time the rings are gone the bore is well worn, no point re ringing worn bores if that is the case, won't do much.

As you have to take the pistons out, just wait until you know for sure what size you're on, and get the bores scoped, if it's been bored for example without a deck/stress plate the bores will be scrap, but I've seen this done by some well known names!
