clutch quadrant help plz
lost my clutch the other day and it appears to need a new clutch (ratchet) quadrant.... the bit under the clutch pedal
ive got a 1988 sierra cosworth, at the motor shop he said is the part white black or yellow (different colours meaning different sizes)
gone up there today and hes ordered me a black one
on the bag it says 'clutch adjuster repair kit ford granada sierra 50mm'
does anyone know if this is right, i really dont want to take it to bits and find its the wrong part
cheers steve

there are 4 colours, black, red, yellow and white
my money would be on you having the red or yellow one
don't fit the wrong colour or you will quickly end up frying the clutch, snapping the cable or worse still, bending the pedal box
remove the entire pedal box, it's only a few bolts and that way you can dismantle it on the bench and it's much much easier to do
when you reassemble, make sure you thread the cable through the bulkhead and onto the end of the clutch pedal before you hook it onto the box end

I'd fit the cable the other way around, that way you can simply lift the pedal, then push the quadrant forwards, fit the cable and release, I have a white one in the garage if any good, personally I'd just lock it and make it adjustable for under £5, never have to worry about quadrants ever again that way, and only takes about 10 mins extra work.

the one i have in it at the moment is white, and this new ones black...
my brother is still down at the car and having problems getting the old one out, he's going to remove it tonight and bring both back here so we can measure and see the difference

ill take the old one back for a replacement but good to keep a spare i guess since it appears to be a common problem.
