Default E903 MMM - Now back on the road!

Hi all.

I'm trying to find some history on my car.
I bought it earlier this year from a guy called Jason in Dorset,
who had bought it from a guy called Matt in Holmrook, around Aug/Sept time last year?
Before that, I've been told a Neil may of owned it at some time???
It had the Cheshire RSOC badge on the VIN plate so any of you guys remember it?
It was running quite a high spec I believe, and it is very clean.

If you are a previous owner of this car please get in touch as I'm interested in the history of it, and any pics you may have?

Also this has become a mini resto thread, so scroll to the bottom to see the finished pics of it as she is now.

hi mate,

yer my dad owned it for around 5-6 years and cherished it dearly and sadly got into the wrong hands by the sound of it after matt sold it.

all the history should be with it. we had it resprayed around 2 years ago and just got all the right bits for it, i.e. hocks etc..

whatever the car needed when we had it, it got basically

whats actually left of the car mate ?

if you want any pics or want to chat about it email me at darrylsmith_92@hotmail.co.uk and we can give numbers/pics that way mate

hope this helps and look forward 2 your reply

Hi Darryl. Many thanks for your reply.
This is exactly what I was hoping to happen - find previous owners , pics of it, and any history etc.
If there any other previous owners out there please get in touch too.

I'll get in contact when I get a some time spare. Am just trying to upload some recent pics of it but photobucket is not being my best friend right now!!! lol

You may not want to see them though after seeing the obvious care it received when in your possession...

Just a warning before I bring on a heart attack!!! lol Please remember it wasn't me that did this. I am however trying to bring it back to it's past glory.

Pics to follow....

Yes it was, as you can see! I bought what was left from Jason and have been steadily building it back up. Was it just the diff you bought? He mentioned someone from London way bought the bonnet, bumper and a few other bits?

No, by time I heard he was breaking it this was what was left, plus he had the wheels and exhaust. I did ask about the engine but he had sold it.

Couple of up to date pics of how it stands now. Please excuse the dark dots on the pics - took them on my phone and the lens is full of dust! lol

That's the engine in after a rebuild. Box and diff also went in at this point. Had the engine loom tested, dead wires replaced and re-wound in blue to match the hoses etc

Got hold of these classic rims to get it on the road while I decide between my RL7's or Hocks? And got to decide on colour for them too.

Replaced the dash, as the old one had a hole punched in the middle of it (by what looked like a screwdriver!) so this non-cracked one fitted.

Replaced the headlining too, as the old one was sagging more than your nans tits
Not entirely happy with this tho as it has started to lift in one grab handle recess. Will have this retrimmed at some point. Am told can't get original cloth anymore though, so have to decide on colour.

Screwed my door cards in too. They're actually very clean and once the speaker grilles are sprayed up, and cloth brushed they'll look great. Hopefully!

Well that's all for now but more to come this month as have some holiday booked to work on it.

Hi all. Just a quick update before I shoot off to my local RS meet. Got my front calipers back yesterday from Bigg Red after being refurbished. To say I'm happy with the result would be an understatement! Top job and well happy with them.

I don't have any pics of beforehand, but I reckon you all know what 20 year old calipers that were painted badly in the past, and covered in dirt, grease and general crap looked like! The finish is resistant to brake fluid, oil, brake dust and so should keep clean fairly easily. More pics will be posted in the next few weeks as it is full speed ahead and the time has come to bolt everything together.

Hi all. Well it's been a while since I've updated this thread, but I've been busy working on her when time has allowed.
In the last month my little boy, Jamie, arrived in the world. All is well but he has eaten up a lot of my time that would of otherwise of been spent finishing my rebuild. Almost there now though!
More has been done since the pics below, and it's now finished bar the fluids and a couple of screws. I'm unfortunately not the best with taking pics while I'm working, and most of this build has been alone and outside, so I've not got as many pics as I would of liked.
Anyway here's a couple of pics to update you all.

I would be grateful if anyone could help me out with identification of my actuator too? I've been told it may be a Collins item? Also is there anyway I can tell the rating/spec of it? There seems to be no numbers stamped on it.

Any comments welcomed.

Dorset RSOC is nearest to us. During the winter it's just the 1st Thursday of the month, during the summer (now) it's the 1st and 3rd Thursday. At the Claypipe Inn in Sandford. I normally go - infact tonight is only the 2nd meet I've missed in over a year. I'm hoping mine will be on the road for the next one in 2 weeks time.

You have pm too mate.

Yessss!!!!! She's back on the road! Finished the rebuild (as finished as it ever is!) and she is now back on the road.

Some of you may of seen me and the car at RS Combe, but if not, here are a few pictures of how she is now.

Please remember, this was rebuilt outside and entirely by myself, with a bit of help from my dad and brother, and also on a budget. In all, I'm quite pleased with the result.

Any comments welcome.

Glad to see it back on the road I bought it off Daryl's father neil

Spent another load of dosh on new radiator, intercooler, pre-cooler, new rear diff, re- wired the whole dash, then sold it the lad called Jason who basically only wanted it cause it had anti-lag fitted, from what I was told he only had it on the road for a short while before he broke it up for spares, I'll email you the pictures I have and videos from a drag day we had

Cheers guys. Had some nice comments at Combe too.
Paul - They are on my list when I find a nice set. The old ones I have are worn through and look awful.

Engine bay should be polished up in next day or two so more pics to come soon.
