I know one thing....SIERRA's are not as quick as you lot make out....they are old hat 80's technology using an old pinto engine as a base, they are poorly put together unreliable rust buckets!!!!!

You a good wind up merchant mate and will fit in well on Passion Ford
but in answer to your post, yes 80,s Technology with souped up pinto base but still running strong after 25 years

0-60 on average 6 secs with a top speed of 145 - 150mph is still nothing to be sneezed at nowadays and thats before some nutter just alot of money at them

Great user name for a Ford Forum quite apt

Sorry Jase, nice car

Where did I say they were the fastest car on the planet ? Where did I say they use the latest technological advances ? They were designed in the early 80's and stopped being made 15 years ago if you go from the end of the Escort Cosworth. They are still however in demand and some are running power levels way beyond anything anyone ever dreamed of. are they the best car out there ? No. are they the fastest ? No. But you are missing the point. This is a thread about Jason's new 3dr, which I suspect is much more of a car then you will ever aspire to. You are now boring me and I'm not arguing with an idiot, it becomes somewhat laborious when they don't even grasp the concept of what was originally said and try and take the thread off elsewhere.

You really are a tit.

I love this car.
My absolute favourite Cossie in the best colour.

Completely beside myself with jealousy and i want it.
Also if i had one it would have to be as standard as possible and that one is it..!
Gorgeous car.

You are either jeleous or just here to try and wind people up but one things certain you sure don't know what your on about!

As said 0-60, 6 seconds is not slow, 'What cars out the showroom' can do that then? Oh and 'Not as quick as we think', no it's actually what we KNOW as we actually own these cars!

As for 'Old hat 80's technology' well yes nail, head... very advanced for the time!

That aside to OP very nice, hopefully keeping it standard?

Martin

Thanks very much to everybody for the positive comments, muchly appreciated.

Scrapman, you are just so irritating, why bother?
Ok, you have a fiesta, great, welcome to the site, but dont slate my car etc.
Yes a Cosworth isnt the fastest about these days, but then all the cars these days are no where near as iconic as the Cosworths etc, and probably wont be around in 20 years.
I also have a BMW X5, probably just as quick as the Cosworth, much much newer, better spec etc, but I enjoy the Cossie so much more.

well if thats what you think then why dont you fuck off to another car website which may suit your needs, as you clearly know fuck all about these cars.

every so often an idiot joins the site to talk shite on peoples posts and to try and cause arguements, looks like your another 1 of these tossers so hopefully the mods realise this before they let you go any further and hit you with a ban.

Duuude, why the fuck are you on passionford if your slating sierras?

For a car from 1985 theres nothing in its class from that era! Yes its an old sierra, but i dont think theres any sane person in the kingdom come to say a YB is slow shit pinto engine. The only thing pinto is the 205 block used on 3 doors, rs500's and 2wd sapphires.

A 400bhp sierra isnt slow, let alone rod tarrys 850bhp 210+mph one haha

As the bad weather is here I decide to change the wheels to protect them from tarnishing.
So fitted the comps I had in the garage.
No plans to change anything else, standard is the way to go with this one

Keep thinking of putting a stainless system on, then keep waking up and telling myself DONT!!!!!
No dump valve, no fluttering, no changes.
This ones got to stay standard, the other ones for modified parts

Very nice, just a shame I couldn't find a standard one when I got mine, have to say I don't like them wheels, well not on the car although know you are doing temporary.

Must admit, this is the first Cosworth I have owned (had 5) that I really like the standard wheels on it.
But, I do welcome all comments good and bad as get a good idea from others.
