Default New turbo?? advice needed

I have just started stripping my Cossie down for an underbody and engine rebuild, when the time comes I am going to buy a new turbocharger not a recon,

My question is can I run a T38 on standard boost and what differnce will it make ie: boost/lag etc.

I would like to have the option to up the boost at a later date so I'm thinking T38

Thanks

Are you changing intercooler, injectors, actuator chip etc ? Would be no point having a T38 without any of these, would be overkill IMO Micheal, Go for Hybrid T34 if your not that fussed about mega amount of boost, or get a turbo technics T3.

T34 with the right supporting mods and proper map makes an awesome road cossie IMO

He says he wants to run standard boost and so guess engine would be standard, you would need a chip to suit to start with as a different turbo, but none of the shelf chips cater for a T38 on an otherwise standard car. Personally I would stick with the T3.

If you require a T38 then you need the other components to suit such as injectors, MAP sensor etc.

So once you decide which route you are going to take and get all the hardware and a chip to suit of course IMO it makes sense to swap it all at the same time.

As said T34 is the most common for stage 3, around 380HP if setup right which is more than enough really.

You just simply have no need for anything more than a T3 if you run std boost - if your wanting to up the power then a T38 is a good option - i've had both T34 .48 and currently sitting in the car is a T38 .63 - personally i don't like T34's mine was gutless, some people say it's the perfect road spec but i dissagree my T38 is proven to start making +boost around 2500rpm and peaks 35psi
