I am a bit confused.. read the thread a few times now ).... CW1 cam is NOT the same as the AB07 cam.. BUT very simular, or what??? and not even close to a DB14 (much bigger lift than CW1 and AB07)??

Will a CW1 need valve cutsouts ??

AB07 has more lift but less duration than a CW1

BD14 is bigger

BD14 will need cutouts to be safe, not sure for the CW1, the AB07 is a straight replacement for the standard cam

Thanks Steve.. Then I got it right. As I already have a CW1 on the shelf, I need to ask Kent.

Got the car home at long last.

Car drives very nice with the cam, a lot better than i expected.

Seems to pull a fair amount harder top end now.

On the rollers tomorrow so will find out if it has made any diffeence.

Got stuck in stop start traffic on the way home for 1hr 45min, then gave up on the cruise mode trying to get a good mpg 40 mile from home and still got 31.44mpg

Thought it would of been worse because of more lift and duration and the crap traffic, so im a happy bunny.

Steve

Well the cam and a bit of map tweaking netted a 34.7bhp gain

Torque has jumped from 375lb/ft to 455lb/ft , so 80lb/ft gain

Just had a good look at the two graphs and its even better than i thought.

Peak power gain is 34.7bhp @ 6600rpm

But it holds power so much better and is 44bhp up @ 7000rpm

Peak torque is 80lb/ft better and still 60lb/ft up @7000rpm, was 275lb/ft now 345lb/ft

Some of the gains would also me down to remapping i would expect

danny what are you waffling on about
the fuel map wasn't the same changing from a std inlet cam to an ab cam would require extensive alterations to the fuel map and the break points

OK granted so why did it still have near enough the same afr all the way through???

I thought you would of atleast made the fueling better up top???

And how long did those alterations take??On the dd rr that would of taken all of an hour!!

cheers danny
