I did replace the gearoil in my Sierra Cossie, and I am not quite happy about the gearshift. I used ELF elfmatic G3, (should be good)
What are you guys using to get the best gearshift? I remember few year beck, we used to add "something" to the gearoil to get better gearshift.
Any good advice appreciated

Sorry for asking, but is the name of the oil "redline shockproof"? I have never heard about it, but would like to try something else to gain better gearshift.

T5's can be very notchy, esp with a few miles, I tried a additive which helped mine shift wise, but slowed the changes down, although it helped things the synchro rings NEED friction to work, I now use 75W90 gear oil, but redline shockproof much better.

very good experience with Mobil1 ATF320 ![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
have tried a few oils on the T5 and this is so far the best.
no extra sound, shifting is fine, and the box is really nice to shift at high revs and when the oil gets hot.

So to summarize, is the "Redline shockproof lightweight" oil the best solution for the Borg Warner T5 gearbox for Sierra RS Cossie?
Any good advices for how to clean the old oil before adding new oil to it?

Thanks guys!
I am trying to find what the problem is in my car. Have you heard of problems shifting gears, only under load?
I have tested the car many times now, and it is clear that when driving very hard like on 1/4 mile track, the problem occur shifting gears, especially 2nd and 3rd. And when I have to go back to the start line, the reverse is difficult also.
Any ideas?

We found out, when running over 6500 rpm, it was almost impossible to shift, but around and under 6500 rpm, it was a lot easier....strange.....
But thanks for the tip about going first into 5th and then reverse
