RS500 thermostat housing
After some digging with my parts my engine builder noticed I have a 500 housing and a late 2wd head with some minor differences.
Is it worth converting to the 500/4x4 cooling setup to use this part or just source a proper 2wd thermostat housing and flog it?

There were quite a few versions of the 2wd head.
There is the 3dr/early saff one with the 2 bolt thermo housing
The RS500 road car head with 3 bolt thermo housing and dowled inlet
The RS500 crate engine head/2wd saff head which is the road car RS500 head but without the dowls
and the late 2wd head which has the 4x4 waterways. This had a different part number to the rest and is beefier than the others, I am guessing this the is one you have.
Although the 500/4wd thermo is probably the better design I notice a lot of engine builders stick with the 2wd set up and the parts are cheaper and easier to obtain.
