Hi guys i'm gonna do an oil change on my saff in the next few days what are peoples recommendations on oil grade and manufacture and is it best to use a ford oil filter?
I was looking at using the silkolene pro s 5w40!!!!!(opie oils £44.99 for 5L)
my saff is 2wd 200 block t34, 500 cooler 3bar map and greens norris chip around 330bhp i recon it's not a daily driver running 18psi i think haven't drivin it for nearly six months.
yes mate use a ford filter well i always do anyhow!i think 5w-40 might be abit on the thin side go for either 10w-50 silkolene pro or mobil 1 15w-50 motorsport
Thought you sold the saph m8, good news to here you still have it.
Steve
I nearly had too but manged to pull a few strings to raise some cash from other sources to pay the debt off so i kept it i really didn't want to have to sell it in the first place. yours on the road yet?
u need a 10w really anything higher is to thick when cold and a 50 really as said silkolean is very good i use castrol fully sny 10w40 only beacause its free at work but the 40 (how thin it is when hot) is too thin really so it uses it and it weeps abit
Just looked inside as much as you can(without chopping lol), tbh mine seems ok inside no rust. If there is it must be on the outside of the centre piece. Its dated 04/06/09 so its not sat for years

+1
I use Mobil 1 5W50 for quick lubrication on start up and high temp safety.
5W50 also used to be what Ford specified for the YB.
