Default Best head gasket for cossie YB

Hi,

I've just purchased another engine to replace my tired old lump

Can anyone advise me on the best choice of head gasket?..The car will be running approx 360bhp at 1.5bar boost

Many thanks

I would use a group a YB 0611, due to it's fibrous nature it will cope with slightly imprefect surfaces, that would have water pissing out of a metal gasket engine.

Thanks for your help people

Tabetha, will the 0611 cope with the relatively high boost i'll be running?

Also, how do i know what thickness of gasket to buy?

Cheers

You don't have to worry about the thickness, the yb 0611 is a set thickness.
1.5 bar boost is nothing, some other countries run with these gaskets to over 500bhp, and nearly 3 bar!!

Don't know about stronger, they are slightly thicker, so will seal to less perfect surfaces better.

I ran a YB0611 (group A) on my saph at 450 bhp and 28 psi with no dramas at all!

Was going to go for a WRC multilayer jobbie but as Tab's has said above, for the WRC gasket to work perfectly, both surfaces need to be absolutely flat and perfect. My head was ok but wasn't sure about block face so went for the group A and was perfect!
