Default What is this block an bolts

hi, i startet to remount my reserve engine and i was wondering about the code in front of the block at the coolant pump. the code is yl 271, does anyone knows what block this is? i thought normaly the nuber what is stamped on is something like ybb....

the engine is from a 4x4 saph. its a 205 block, so i think its not the original one.

the other thing is, i wanted to remove the head and there are nuts or bolts that ive never seen bevor. does somebody knows what this is?

sorry, just pic´s from my mobile.

Can't help with number, but the nuts/bolts are most likely nuts on a stud kit, ie ARP, but they used domed nuts from somewhere, instead of the normal ones supplied.

The L stands for long, as in long block, they were cosworth exchange engines supplied by Ford and did not have the bolt on bits fitted, only the complete head and block.

The ones I have seen were hybrids of 2wd and 4x4 bits and used to 205 block.

Not sure on the bolts look a pain to get a socket on.

There was one for sale on here and ebay about 6 months ago

if its the same as long stud nuts then you will need to get an 18mm deep socket machined down to fit the nuts!! its best to use a 6 sided rather than a multispline socket too!!
