Don't have a clear pic but if you look under the front bumper of the car, at the middle you will see the big crank pulley, the sensor bolts onto a mount on the sump just beside there, it's usually white.

looks like this, directly below bottom crank pulley

the crank pulley will have 4 lugs on it, very common for the lugs to break off and give non starting/ poor running engine

Here's a tip.....

Take a spanner or wrench as you guys like to call it. Undo the two nuts, unplug it, and it's off, probably about 3-5 mins tops.

The sensor itself can easy be removed but how do you manage to "undo" the connector? I've got small hands but it seems that i'll have to remove the inlet?

Cheers,

Mark

To remove the connector simply push in the sprung piece on the connector itself it will then be possible to part the male/female parts, the connectors are normally located in a small bracket affair that is bolted to the block, so 13mm ratchet spanner to untighten bracket first then connector will simply slide out.

No, the connector is white as is the wiring, it has a clip it sits in near to the oil filter the braket that holds the connector is bolted to the plenum, you have to manoeurve it out of the clip (Dont need to unbolt anything) once out the connector simply seperates so the CPS can be removed.

I've got really small hands but the connector is under the inlet, above the starter and behind the dizzy. I can barely touch the connector!

(Trying to replace the sensor right now)

Ok, i might be doing something wrong. Does someone have a picture of this bracket? I removed the dizzycap and rotor, right behind these are twe connectors of witch the right one is the crank connector witch will not come loose.

How do you come there with your hands and what do you unbold?

Sorry, quess i'm om crystal meth....

Best pic I could find on google, can you see the white bit to the right and down from the bottom of the distributor? It is really easy to get this unplugged and out of the bracket, maybe you could get someone to give you a hand, it is a bit tight but it's by no means impossible. Have you tried it from underneath, just use a big inspection lamp to see what your doing.
