Default 4x4 MT75 Viscous Coupling?

Hi guys

It seems that my VC is about to let go. It is possible to replace this? Or would it be more reasonably to change the entire gearbox?
Do you know the partno. from Ford for a VC?

Thanks.
Tommy

It`s easy to change it, you don`t have to take the gearbox out from the car either. Open the rear end of gearbox house, then you see it. A friend of mine, get a new one, from a Ford dealer in sweden, i think they are out of production, but some dealers have them in stock.

That was also my thought, that it was possible to change it without removing the gearbox. Just needed to hear it from someone who have tried it.
Ok, i'll have to try and see if I can get a new one from Ford then.
Could you maybe help me and ask your friend about the partnumber from Ford?
Thanks!

I'll see if Ford Denmark can get one of those from Hamburg then. Can you see which dealer in Hamburg it is?

Just forgot another question. Does the VC come with gaskets etc. or do I need to order special gaskets besides the VC in order to change it?
Thanks again for your help.

It`s not any gasket there, just silicon. We use a red loctite, which is oe on most of gearbox hose on Fords

Hi again.
I just got the price on a new VC from a danish Ford dealer. 8.000 DKR!! Thats equal to 8.800 NOK!! That's just insane!! :-O I can get a used, but restored gearbox for 4.500 DKR.
Could you please do me another big favour and investigate who the dealer in Hamburg is, so I can try and contact them directly, to see if I can get one of their VC's at a resonably price? That would be a big help to me!
Thanks alot for your help!
Regards,
Tommy

I have checked the part in England and its no longer available when it was available it was £735 + the vat thats more than buying the box without the transfer case which cost around £500

I don't know what 8000 DKR equates to but it sounds a lot if you would like me to check the part in Europe to see if I could get it and what the cost is I can do that

Hi Luciano
Well, 8.000 DKR equates to 964£.
Yes, if you can check the price for me for a VC from Germany or whereever it would be cheaper, that would be great!
Thanks!

Yes, it probably a worn vc, it`s very easy to change it, you don`t have to take out the gearbox, just open the rear end of gearbox house, after you have take away propshaft

I bought my VC from here:

http://www.bearingkits.co.uk/FORD-GE...0d61cd9deda055

Haven't fitted it though. When I went under the car it looked tight and wasn't sure if its easy to change one. If its as easy as grcossie said I should try it myself.
