Default Fitting Gt40 turbo

Can anyone give me some information, my friend is in the process of buying a GT40 turbo,
will it be suitable for his engine, and if not what mods will need to be made to other areas.
All help appreciated.

Engine spec:

Low miles 205 block chemically cleaned and oilways modified for flow
Late model 4x4 Sierra Cosworth Crank
4x4 pistons with offset gudgeon pins
Crank, Rods and Pistons dynamically balanced
ARP pro bolts throughout bottom end
New genuine high pressure oil pump
Cometic sump gasket
Fully rebuilt 2wd cylinder head with phosphor bronze guides
New nimonic exhaust valves
Genuine YB1261 Head Gasket and Genuine Head Bolts
7.78:1 Compression Ratio
T34 Turbo
Bosch 0 280 150 403 grey injectors
New 4x4 inlet manifold assembly
Modified Throttle Body for Anti-Lag

would this spec be ok for this lag monster

Wrong block and head gasket, there is no mention of the cams or head work, You would also need a exhaust manifold,
I would say its not a good mix and the GT40 can blow 700+hp without a problem.

what's he using the car/ engine for?

as mark said, the block is the biggest worry for me, beyond stage 3 (<400hp) 205 block's are a lottery

minimum is a 200 block if going for big power, plus you cannot long stud a 205 block and you will need a long studded block for big power

a gt40 turbo is huge in terms of the power it can deliver

you're better off asking him what power he wants and then decide the spec & turbo from there

Thanks for the comments people, basically what he is wanting is a low boost setup, with a max of 450bhp, the turbo is coming cheap thats why he is after it, but is this possible also what manifold is needed to run this turbo, he already knows he has to upgrade the gasket, and cams, maybe headwork and other bits.

if he wants a max of 450 he should forget about the gt40; it will be shockingly bad, he'll be so much better off with a gt3071

even with a gt3071 i'd want a 200 block, you'll need some head porting but nothing wild, a bd14 inlet (he'll need pocketed pistons for a bd14) and standard exhaust cam. you can keep the standard exhaust manifold and you'll need a spacer for the 4x4 inlet

if the gt40 is so cheap, he's better off buying it and selling it on for a profit

ok thanks for your advice, just one more question, do you need to machine the pistons for a bd 14?
