the rolling radius between a 215 40 17, and a 215 35 18 isnt as much as you would think

depending on application there is no real problem at all with running them,

not at all, i did over 75k miles on 18s no issues at all,

i had a set of 17s in stock, but never used them

i did have some funky front suspension which may have helped

I've also heared that from Mike Rainbird. But it seems that there are a lot peeps on here who have 18s on their saffs.

Anybody with pics of saffs with 17s MO's 6 spoke?

Maybe some of the loss of drive appeal on mine could of been due the the Zoo Beam, it wasn,t set-up correctly tbh i was NEVER happy with how the whole car felt @ High Speed, so maybe i,m blaming alittle TOO much on the 18s, but if i were to change it,d be 17s for me.....

You got some pics of yours on 17s Paul?

More comments are welcome from people who have 18s under their saffs.

ive had 18s on mine for about 5 years and didnt notice they were any worse than the 17s before.. never been round a track in it .. also swapped my koni ahmed suspension for gaz gold coilovers and on a softer setting is no worse at all either.. . front arches rolled .. id like a set of the old 17 comps tho for spares but they wont go over my front brakes..

It's weird that some people say it is truly rubbish and others say its fine.

So far I've seen one car with MO 17s but for some reason it looks weird.

Have to disagree with you on this one, I have 7jx17 5 spoke mo's on my car and I think they look plenty big enough

The saph is a big car and needs big wheels. 17s comp mos on mine just looked that bit to small for the car. The 6 spoke 18inch mo's I have on their now look the part!

I am right in saying its a 3 door your putting them on?
If so my advice is dont.

I ran 17 mos 6 spokes for 3 years and changed them to 18s last year.

Car drives crap, taken away the comfort, and being honest doesnt look any better.
In the middle of trying to get my 17 s of my mate back.

As i say dont go any bigger than 17 imo!!!

No no Davie

The only other rims for the 3 door will be 3pc BBS or CXNs.

The 18 MOs will come on my brothers saff. See this restoration topic: https://passionford.com/forum/restor...gine-back.html

This is something i've wondered about myself, i really fancy changing to 18's but don't want to ruin the way it drives at the mo, i've heard mixed reports on 18" wheels and it's an expensive mistake to make if i don't like them

Karl don't do it mate, it's purely for looks. When mine was on the same set up as yours (koni's/ahmed & 17's) it drove perfect. When i changed to coilovers & 18's i ruined the drive of that car. I t took me ages to get it right & put soft rally springs on the rear.

Your car is PERFECT Karl, don't spoil it mate. If' it's not broke, don't fix it.

No, never did actually. My brother wanted 18" MO's under his Saff. Here's a pic:
