Default External Wastegate

My problem is...

Where should I put, on shorter side of exhaust manifold, pipe for external wastegate-

I mean in between the pipes , or on any one of them. If on center, what should I do with the wall between the pipes. I have tial 44mm, wastegate so the size of the pipe should be 44mm , or could it be smaller??

Cheers

Mine was placed in the same position as shown in the picture and sits below the ABS reservoir. It's in bits at the moment otherwise I'd post a picture. The outlet of the wastegate was plumbed back into the exhaust for street legality.

Not as cool as a rally car set up, but not as rowdy either!

I use a 38mm Tial External. It's very sexy ha ha.

I was told that with wastegates, size is based on how much exhaust gas you need to flow past the turbo. If you are running high boost, then most of the exhaust gas is flowed through the turbo, so the wastegate doesn't need to be so big. And vice versa for low boost and bigger engines I suppose.

I was running around 25psi on a T04E 57trim compressor with .63AR exhaust and 370 wheel hp, and the 38mm seemed fine. Ask someone like a tuner though who knows your spec and they will put you on the right track.
