Question 3dr 9x17 Rear Wheel Offset

Would anyone be kind enough to give me some guidance on a suitable wheel offset in order to use 9x17 wheels and 235/40R17 tyres on the rear of a 3dr? I am about to order some new wheels and I could do with a bit more confidence that my measurements are correct so that I don't waste any of my already tight racing budget.

The regulations in my race championship permit the arch flange to be rolled and the bodykit to be trimmed, but I am not allowed to remove any metal from the flange. I have spent some time measuring up the 8x16s which I currently use which have an ET30 offset and 225/45R16 tyre with no rubbing (body flange is not yet modified). I think that the 235 should fit with modified arches with the offset increased to ET35 because I have quite a bit of clearance to the coilover.

Has anyone used the 9x17 with a 235 and ET35 offset? Or does anyone have any information which is contrary to my measurements?

Thanks for the help.

I supply the 9 x 17" Team Dynamcis Pro race 1.2 that loads of my customers use on various cosworth cars ,Escorts, 3drs and Sierra sapphires.
the 3dr has much more room on the rear than a Sapphire ,depending on how clever you are it is possible to use the Max offset ET23 on front and rears , i also supply the 235/610 x 17" Dunlop tyres to fit these !
If your close enough to my workshops i have local racers that would lend me back a wheel /tyre combo to trial fit if that helps .

Thankyou for the info and offer of help Tony. I am aware that you supply these wheels but I have been offered a one-off opportunity to get some wheels at a very competitive price. If it comes to nothing then I will contact you. Cheers.

PS - Your price is very good value Tony.
