Default engine trouble

hi i had a rebuild done on my saphy engine i ran it in and i noticed last week it was low on oil. toped it up went down for petrol then back up past mine to motorway and had a wee blast 120 to be exact in 3rd . stopped at round about and could hear a loud tapping sound took it home and had a look with the bonnet opened its sounds to be coming from the rear top left tappets it a loud tinging sound when engine running get
s quieter at times but it rings when reved checked the timing spot on.put camera down plug holes pistons and chambers look ok .can any body help as it wont go away tryed tappet conditioner didnt work ...one friend reconds bottom end but i dont know any ideas thanks

as said 120 in 3rd? has the engine been run in properly,if it hasnt you could of done some serious damage and you'll have to be living up to your username

when you ran it in wot oil did you have in it how meny miles did you do in it befor you fort it was run it and wot oil is it on now on

it was broke in on mineral oil for about 1k changed to fully synthectic then the tinging started

You need to describe the noise in more detail, tappets can be a problem, and that area is the classic place, as it is last in line for oil.
This area is also where the crap and muck, congealed oil etc collects, in the oil gallerys that run along side each side of the head.
These galleries should be cleaned out when rebuilt, by removing grub screws in the ends that block them off, and using brushes etc to get the crap out.
If some crap has dislodged and blocked a tappet oilway that would account for the noise.
But tappets are a tapping sound not a tingling sound, so I'd have a look and see if anything is loose first.

ok stripped the engine and ordered a complete 200 block from rsbreakers in portchester for 725 delivered ...and the damage to bottom is pushrod bearing collapsed on piston no3 and 2 bent valves got delivery of block yesterday opened it to find a empty block shell no pistons or crank so phoned them they said no return been bumped so want a quick fix a complete 200 blocked engine or a complete bottom end 200 one thanks to all for the help
