Default saph electric sunroof

At the moment ive got a hand operated sunroof which i assume comes on all standard 2wd, im doing a resto and as i have the headlining out i ve been thinking about fitting a electric job

Are these a straight fit ? what happens with the 12v feed ? do i need to run a seperate feed or will the existing one be up to the job

thanks paul

Im sure the motor just plugds into the interior light on your head lining.

It has its own separate loom

you will need granada motor which fits direct onto exsisting mech as the late sierra has different splines also you have to remove the relay off the assy to fit

sierra bracket and cover the bracket will require mods so that the cover will fit due to the roof panel being different

wire up to a good fused live feed switch via ignition job done

hope this helps

got one in mine and you will need to run a new feed (I took mine from the window switch)

you will also need to trim the roof lining, make sure you get the black metal bracket for the motor to bolt up to and the spline shaft(the bit where the handle is at the moment) that goes in to the motor although I think if you use a granada motor the splines are the same as the shaft that you have now

hope that makes a little bit of sense

I have a donor sierra facelift model 1992 with electric sunroof. And I wanted to convert this to my 1991 pre facelift sierra cosworth 4x4. As I understand its not as simple to only fit the motor? What else do I have to convert from one sierra to the other?

I got a complete kit including glass from Paul NYRS, was a easy swap with a small amount of wiring to connect up.

It wasnt an easy swap for me. The roof of my pre facelift cossie 1991 is different than the one of the donor sierra facelift model 1992. The sunroof panel itself went in without any problems, but the motorassy didnt fit on the inside. The roof panel of the my cossie has a different shape so I had to cut it with a grinder to make it fit! I thought all bodies of the sierra sapphire where the same, quess not!
Still busy with it getting a good finish at the moment..
